Hey, what shall we do

Guys, you might be wondering what Alumni can do for you
1. I feel we can connect with everyone as to what are you guys doing now
2. I also feel, slowly we will loose touch with one another. Put ministry aside and ask "Hey, how are you?" I believe this question will help us to strengthen our relationships
3. School is moving. I bet we can see more actions from the school webpage or from here
God bless you

Wow! Pink colour... NICE! >.<

Looks a bit more like Pas. Alex's blog, but I'm sure he's working hard to make the blog better.

Anyway, I'm not an alumni yet, but before the end of the year I will be one! Looks like I'm the first "follower" of the BCM blog.

I'm excited and looking forward to be "released" into the field that I have been prepared for in BCM. The network f support that I have put together during my time in BCM will be invaluable. Thank you all!

Great! time to keep in touch 'digitally' using the 'every wehre at one time' WideWebWorld. Living within this crazy society where time is a rare commodity, being able to keep in touch right from your office / table is a necessary option. Thanks Alex!

Hey there Alex!

PINK!!! One good way of making a pro-female statement, ya? And thanks so much for linking my HCD blog to yours. I hope my favorite website links would be serve as a HCD resource for ministers. And do leave a comment or two to push me on...

For me, even tho I am tied down with ministry and family commitments, I have found one very significant way I can give back to BCM i.e. is to interact with the current BCM students through their blogs to help shape their theological worldview...aside from helping them fulfil their assigments requirements. I see this as a way of mentoring too...

Check it out with Pr Lim Yeu Chuen if you are not involved in this area yet...

Good job, Alex!!

Hi there. Hope I am not too old to blog with you guys/gals. As you grow older in the ministry, you develop some values. Bottom line: "Relationship is more important than anything else." Believe me, it takes time but it is worth it.
Anyone would like to have a cuppa when we (wife & I) come up to KL/PJ?
Philip Sung

pst Philip (or Phil????) count me in. I like to have a cup of coffee with you, with some noodles, or bread, or roti, or whatever. Tnx for the offer.
Nope you are not too old to blog. In fact i feel privilege and honoured to have you to blog with us, so that we can learn one point or two from man (and minister) like you
Happy blogging

Yes, it's me. Perhaps I shd put PhilSung instead.
It would be a pleasure to meet with you. In fact, I had a thought to contact you, Alex bec I was coming to KL and was available to preach 2 Sundays ago. You see, our English service is on a Saturday night. More Scriptural?? Sabbath. Some of you guys should consider your main service for Saturday. it will liberate your people and allow them to have a sabbath rest on Sunday!
The pace of life and stress is unbearable nowadays.
Take care,
PhilSung

Nice work, Alex! We will try to be back for the Homecoming and the Graduation Service. Our son is graduating and we want to be there. One of the things we miss the last few years is the thrill of singing the BCM school song during the graduation day.

Philip, I agree with you totally as we grow through the years, we realize that we are interdependent on one another. Covey, said that we start with dependence and move towards independence, when we are at the second base, we often will realize and return to interdependence. Count me in for a cuppa.

Alex,

I think it is better to let the alumni having the password, so that we could post our activities there.

Hi I am Calvin Lee from Kajang AG. Thanks Alex for starting tis blog to help us keep in touch. Hope we can really keep in touch in spite of all our busyness - for that matter, I agree with Ps Philip about our "lost sabbath". Members are so busy these days on Sundays that I wonder when is their sabbath. At least we ministers can have our rest on Mondays. Members have to go to work. What have we come to. Something to ponder. BTW, i wonder whether my comments are appropriate here. Hope so. God bless

Dear All,

Nice to notice that the blogging here is picking up. I agree with you guys about the 'lost Sabbath'. I'm all for less acitivities, simplified structures, practical purposes & increased family or rest time for all our members...

May our Father in Heaven give us a wisdom that will 'let My people go' on earth..!! Heheheh !!

alexsoh said...

Calvin, take a break!!!! Go some where, get out of Kajang (for a short period la, 2 or 3 days - not too long hahahhhhhahah) you will like it. We do need this. SOmetimes we have to 'squeeze' a day between Sunday and Monday. SOunds impossible???? That's it

alexsoh said...

Vin and Cal ... pls add yrself into the contributors. I do appreciate that. Vin, if we are not careful, CHURCH has become too structured for the Spirit to do something. Think about it. Christmas is coming, do you realise where will christians be during that day? (silly question???? yea of cuz) .... Most Christians will be in the CHURCH celebrating Christmas, what about outside church? Non-christians celebrate Christmas with non-christians, and most of the time are the distorted christmas
Think abt it

Hi guys, let me throw something in besides the Saturday service. Our format is "Preaching first." Service starts at 8pm sharp. After singing 2 to 3 songs (usually one hymn of my choice), I get to preach for abt a solid 45 min. till 9pm. then comes communion (every wk)and testimonies, announcements and 30-45 min. of praise & worship.
Well, Biblically, the OT tabernacle worship pattern, cleansing of the laver first before entering into the holy place to worship. So we let the water of the Word to cleanse us before we lift our hands and hearts to worship Him. The advantages are people will make effort to come early to hear the WORD, and people are fresh to hear the message before all the other preliminaries.
We have been doing this for several years now. it's excellent. try it!

Dear Pas Philip,
That was an interesting insight into structuring your service according to the worship pattern of OT tab. For visiting christians to your church, it would have been a surprise.
Something for us all to consider.., especially with so much annoncement due to so many activities going on in some churches..
Interesting.. very interesting.. thanks for your sharing..
